In just under two weeks residents of South Carolina will be eligible for rebates on new energy-efficient appliances. Beginning March 31st, South Carolinians may receive rebates starting at $50 with the purchase of Energy Star appliances, such as washers, dryers and refrigerators.
The rebates are funded by the state's share of $300 million in federal stimulus dollars distributed to every state as a way to boost sales of the energy saving appliances. South Carolina was awarded over $4 million for the rebate program. Once the rebate dollars have been spent, that's it, so it may be a good idea for South Carolinians to make their selection soon in preparation for the March 31 kick-off date.
