Indianapolis-based appliance and electronics retailer, hhgregg, shed some light on their growth plans in 2010 when local IndyStar business columnist, Dana Hunsinger,
covered the story.
hhgregg will open roughly 45 new stores by early 2011, increasing their store count from 128 to over 170. Many will come in new markets, such as
Pennsylvania,
New Jersey,
Delaware and
Maryland. The new store openings begin in March where four new stores will be opening in
Virginia:
Newport News - 12140 Jefferson Avenue
Virginia Beach - 3421 Virginia Beach Blvd
Roanoke - 1900 Valley View Blvd
Colonial Heights - 820 Southpark Blvd

Super Bowl is spurring a blitz of TV sales for retailer [hhgregg].
With the local favorite, the Indianapolis Colts, in the national championship this year, its no wonder the local Indianapolis hhgregg stores are busier than last year. Nearly 10% of all televisions sold throughout the year are sold just weeks before the big game. This year, 3.6 million televisions are expected to be sold this month alone.

hhgregg recently helped local MBA college students experience real world business scenarios via the
Gateway Experience program at
Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. For a brief summary of the experience, watch the video below.
"Butler MBA students kick off their graduate coursework by participating in a one-day immersion experience with a local business. The Gateway Experience gives students an initial exposure to the experiential, hands-on learning process in the MBA program. Students work in competitive teams to develop the best solution to a problem currently faced by a partner organization.
In the morning, students meet with company executives and are presented with a business problem. The student teams are then taken to a site location for several hours of data collection. The teams return to campus in the afternoon, develop recommendations and then present their ideas to company executives at the end of the day.
The Gateway Experience sets the tone for the experiential, hands-on nature of the Butler MBA program. It also kicks-off the self-discovery process for our MBA students.
