hhgregg Atlanta Survey Reveals Wish-List Items for Atlanta Residents

Q:      What do the real housewives and househusbands of Atlanta want now?

A:      New Refrigerators and Freezers to Store all of their Home-Cooked Food & A New Big Screen TV for Watching Flicks, At Home

hhgregg recently surveyed Atlanta residents to find out what theyare thinking about their homes, their appliances and their planet. Overall, Atlanta-ites are staying home more – cooking more, storing leftovers in their freezers and watching movies at home. Most of them are content in their current home, but almost 1/3 would move if it weren’t for the current economy. Items on the top of the Atlanta wish list found at hhgregg locations or at hhgregg online include:

An Upgraded Refigerator and Freezer to Store Home-Cooked Food

A big screen TV for watching movies at home

An energy-efficient washer to save energy and $

It's All About Mom Contest Winner

The hhgregg "It's All About Mom" contest has found its winner.  Out of thousands of deserving entries we received, Jim Kitts entry about his mom, Linda, was chosen as the winner.  His entry inspired every hhgregg employee that read it.  You can read his entry below:

"My mother is an angel in disguise. Over the course of 45+ years she has not only raised six of her own children, but as a foster mother, has raised over 420+ foster children as well. Most of these children are newborn or toddlers that have been mentally, physically, or sexually abused and most are born to drug addicted women and medically fragile. When I asked her why she prefers medically fragile newborns (sometimes 3 at a time) her reply was "Some of them might not make it to long in this world with their medical conditions. No one should leave this world without feeling that someone loved them." She has sacrificed so much of herself and with my father being a minister of a small church, funds weren't always available for her to get something nice to treat herself. She has never asked for anything when it comes to Mother's Day, just to be with as much of the family as possible. With my work schedule in law enforcement, my mother helps me out by watching my two children during the week while I'm at work and my deployments. She never complains and never says no when it comes to time with the children. She has touched so many people and it is only fitting that someone reach out and touch her for her kindness, sacrifice and love."

The team here at hhgregg would like to thank each and every person who entered the contest.  Even though we could only have one winner, each and every person who entered the contest did a fantastic job.  We had a very hard time picking a winner among many very deserving mothers.  Thank you all again for entering the hhgregg "It's All About Mom" contest.

Don't worry dads, we haven't forgotten about you.  Check with the hhgregg website towards the end of May for more details on hhgregg's upcoming "It's All About Dad" contest

At the May 16 event fathers will get parenting tips while they and their children visit interactive, football-themed learning stations located around the field. New topics and activities will also be introduced this year.
