Aaron Olson

Aaron Olson

Fort Myers, Florida

Why We’re Saluting Aaron:

Aaron is currently assigned to the Operations Division of the Fort Myers Police Department as a Patrol Sergeant. Prior to this, he was a Sergeant with the Violent Crimes Task Force, Central District Community Policing Officer, Violent Crimes Task Force officer, and a uniformed Special Investigative Group member. He’s also a member of the Fort Myers SWAT team and Honor Guard team.

Through his past assignments, Aaron has created many community partnerships that have become invaluable. And through these community partnerships, citizens can call him at any time for help or to give him information about a crime.

Aaron says, “I believe it is extremely important for people who have been as fortunate as I have been to give back to the community. Many people are born or forced into situations that an average person could never comprehend. Being a police officer for over 16 years, I have seen so many of these unfortunate situations. Being able to help a person or family who is less fortunate is a great feeling.”

When asked why giving back to the community is important to him, Aaron answers, “It is important to me because it is ethically and morally the right thing to do. You don’t have to be rich or famous to help someone who is in need. Just treating those people with respect and dignity can mean the world to them.”
