Maytag Salutes: Dr. John and Carolyn Anoskey

Dr John and Carolyn Anoskey

Name:

Dr. John and Carolyn Anoskey

Hometown:

Evansville, Indiana

Why We’re Saluting John and Carolyn:

John, a dentist, and Carolyn, a dental hygienist, have been giving the gift of a beautiful smile to the people of Honduras for several years. They have been on multiple mission trips where they serve on the medical/dental teams, visiting the poorest areas of Honduras and providing dental care to those in pain.

At home, John is the medical director for the St. Mary’s Mobile Dental Center, a Mobile Dental Bus that visits schools to provide dental care to children – some who may have never been to a dentist before. Since the bus goes to the schools, it makes it easier for these children to see a dentist.

In addition, John and Carolyn volunteer four times a year at Impact Christian Health Center to provide extractions to the working poor or to those who cannot afford dental care. They see around 80-90 patients each time. They explain, “There is such a need out there for dentistry, and so many do not have insurance or have no money, so this is our way of giving back.”

John and Carolyn add, “We love what we do and it is a blessing to be able to share our time, talent and treasures with those less fortunate than us. To be able to put a smile on someone’s face….to get them out of pain…to help them feel better about themselves gives us such joy.”
