Most Valuable NFL Franchises
14 Sep, 2015
Unsurprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys are atop the list of most valuable NFL teams for 2015.
According to Forbes, the Cowboys are worth an estimated $4 billion. That’s a sizable lead over the runner-up New England Patriots, who are worth approximately $3.2 billion. The average NFL team is worth $1.97 billion, just to put things into perspective. It’s the ninth consecutive year Dallas has come out on top on this list.
Most impressively, the $4 billion valuation is not only the highest in all of the NFL; it’s the highest in all of sports. Even Real Madrid, the world’s second most valuable sports franchise at $3.26 billion, is closer to matching the worth of the Patriots than they are to touching the Cowboys.
Super Bowl victories are great and all, but clearly the Cowboys organization is finding a way to thrive despite not winning a title since 1995. Of course, having AT&T stadium as a venue certainly helps, and Jerry Jones being perhaps the most successful owner/marketer in sports certainly doesn’t hurt the team’s cause.
