This summer, there are plenty of soon-to-be blockbuster movies coming to theaters near you. From comedies to tearjerkers to kid-friendly action shows, these films offer something for everyone. Keep reading to discover our suggestions of must-see summer movies for you and your family, depending on what you’re in the mood for.

If you want to laugh:

22 Jump Street (June 13) – Watch as Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill play two rookie undercover cops that go back to college for their next assignment. If you’ve seen the 2012 prequel 21 Jump Street, you know to expect lots of laughs and shenanigans while watching Tatum and Hill’s humorous partnership.

If you’d prefer action:

Godzilla (playing now) – Make sure to watch the original film first! In this new version of Godzilla, the famous monster is challenged by wicked creatures who endanger the existence of human life.
Transformers: Age of Extinction (June 27) – In the fourth installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers, a car mechanic (Mark Wahlberg) and his daughter (Nicola Peltz) discover Optimus Prime, who was deactivated after the “Decepticon” invasion of Chicago in the previous movie. Plus, a new type of monster – the menacing “Dinobot” – is introduced.

If you’re okay with bringing a box of tissues:

The Fault In Our Stars (June 6) – Based on the tearjerker novel of the same name, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort play two teenagers who meet – and fall in love – at a cancer support group.

If you love musicals:

Jersey Boys (June 20) – Check out the movie version of this hit Broadway production. Directed by Clint Eastwood, Jersey Boys is the story of four men who went from blue-collar to American rock stars in the 1960s.

If you’re a sports fan:

Million Dollar Arm (playing now) – Watch as Jon Hamm stars as a sports agent who decides to take a unique approach by recruiting skilled Indian cricket players to play Major League Baseball in the United States.

If you have younger children:

How to Train Your Dragon 2 (June 13) – Hiccup, the teenage son of a Viking chief, and his dragon, Toothless, go on an adventure and discover a secret ice cave where hundreds of wild dragons live. However, one of the new dragons challenges Hiccup to change his perspective on the world as he knows it.
Maleficent (playing now) – You may have seen Disney’s classic Sleeping Beauty – but do you know the story behind the evil character, Maleficent? In this highly-anticipated fantasy action movie, you’ll see the untold tale of the famous villain, played by Angelina Jolie.
